Being that one of my favorite red wines is Zinfandel, I cannot pass up the chance to go to the House of Zin. This winery boasts more single vineyard zinfandels than any other in the region (at 26). They sell out quickly of their vintages, being that most are small production (9 barrels avg). Every Zinfandel that I had tasted amazing, and had different flavor profiles from vanilla and jammy to peppery and soft on the fruit.
The scenery is nice, witch looks like an old hop kiln - nice decor and a nice open outdoor area to lounge and enjoy good company and definitely good wine. Located next to the Healdsburg municipal airport, you can also watch small planes takeoff and land from the hill overlooking the vineyards.
Staff is friendly and knew a lot about their wines and the entire Dry Creek area.
